Clash of the Titans to be filmed in Dinorwig Quarry
DINORWIG Quarry closed on Monday as preparations got underway for the filming of the future Hollywood blockbuster Clash of the Titans.
A Hollywood remake of the classic 1981 adventure movie is set to hit the silver screen in 2010, with ten days of the shoot scheduled for the Llanberis site. (…)
Shooting in Dinorwig is expected to begin in the next fortnight, with the production set to visit a number of other locations including the Canary Islands.
Crews are also set to film in the woods in Newborough on Anglesey.
Security measures will be put in place during the Dinorwig shoot, with the quarry closed for a month. (Source)

The Sun has posted an article today that says that Gemma got engaged to her secret boyfriend at last weekend’s Download Festival. Please consider this only a rumour until we get an official confirmation, since too much that The Sun writes should only be taken with a grain of salt and I personally just don’t think Gemma would want to be marry at such a young age.
The actress told pals how her boyfriend had proposed to her at the fest.
And she said yes.
Congratulations young lady.
But, while happy to boast of her engagement to fellow metalheads, the St Trinian’s star is keeping the identity of her fiancee close to her chest.
A source said: “Gemma seemed really excited and was sharing the good news with people and telling them how over the moon she was.
“He was there with her and they seemed smitten with each other. He looked like he’d make a good James Bond with his tall, dark and handsome looks.” (Read more…)
I just saw on Amazon.co.uk that the “The Boat That Rocked” DVD will be released on September 7, 2009. No word on the special features yet but we’ll keep you updated!

We finally have a fresh and pretty new look for this site – thanks a lot to Devito for designing and coding it and to my friend Amelie for the help with WordPress! I really hope you like the new layout as much as I do!
While I am still working on the site’s content I leave you with a new photo shoot (Set #06 to be exact) that Annika kindly donated to the site – enjoy the new eye candy and stay tuned for more updates!
Gemma Arterton and Ed Westwick will play Cathy and Heathcliff in Ecosse Films’ adaptation of Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights. Peter Webber will direct the pic after original helmer John Maybury ankled.
Project has also seen a number of cast changes. Natalie Portman was originally tapped to play the role of Cathy. Scheduling conflicts saw her exit the project before being replaced by Abbie Cornish. Arterton will now play the iconic romantic role after producers opted to go younger with the pic.
Westwick, who plays Chuck, the poor little rich boy in U.S. teen drama Gossip Girl, wooed Webber and producer Robert Bernstein to play Heathcliff.
‘We’ve cast it as written,’ said Bernstein, whose production company Ecosse Films has been developing the film for nearly three years. Gemma has just turned 23, while Ed is 21.
‘Heathcliff’s a teen, and the story takes him into his early 20s. Cathy is just as young,’ Bernstein said.
‘It’s radical because usually actors playing these characters are much older.’
‘We’re very proud to have British actors,’ Bernstein added, a reference to a point I made last year that homegrown actors were perfectly capable and that there was little point casting the likes of Natalie Portman just to attract investors.
WestEnd Films has taken on international rights to The Disappearance of Alice Creed which stars Gemma Arterton alongside Martin Compston and Eddie Marsan.
J Blakeson who wrote the screenplay made his directorial debut on the film which is in post-production. Adrian Sturges is the producer.
The plot centres around the kidnap of a millionaire’s daughter. Alice Creed’s two kidnappers discover that she isn’t going to accept her situation without a fight.
Production outfit CinemaNX, which is backed by the Isle of Man Government, is financing the project.
I made and uploaded four screencaptures from the new Prince of Persia footage (see the last news update for more info and the video). Click here to see them.
Jerry Bruckheimer’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time won’t hit cinemas until May 2010, but fans looking forward to seeing the big screen adaptation of the hit game can now catch a glimpse of in-film footage online.
Check out Gemma looking gorgeous as Princess Tamina in an all-too-fleeting appearance at the sixteen second mark in the video below.
Hopefully it won’t be too long before we get a full trailer!
FHM’s annual 100 Sexiest list has been announced, and Gemma made an impressive debut at #32! I think it’s safe to presume that with the release of Clash of the Titans and Prince of Persia next year, we’re bound to see her a lot nearer to top of the chart for the 2010 edition.
I’ve added the scan of Gemma’s placing to the gallery, which you can view by clicking the thumbnail below.
